Learn about a cross tying technique for securing VP shunt catheters with silk suture to avoid disconnection. Read about the author's experience and ask for colleagues' opinions.

Chhabra VP shunt sometimes needs to be tied with silk suture to secure the catheter to the connector. I prefer cross tying the knots which may avoid disconnection.

Over short experience of 5 years, no case of shunt disconnection, but of course, real follow up starts now!
